Thank Heavens it's over!!!

So, I'm thinking that it is time for a good long nap.

Christmas is over, now we have New Years Eve in a week and then the very next week is my birthday, ugh!! I use to consider myself rather important because my birthday falls in this holiday succession, now I know I'm just a contributor to the mayhem. No hate mail, please!!

As for Christmas, it was not as bad as I thought it would be. The one major problem that I have with Alex's family is that they are very dry. They don't laugh, they don't joke, they don't even seem to want to have fun. At Thanksgiving in North Carolina, we laughed a lot and that memory is very fond one for me now. This Christmas will just pass by, most likely forgotten by next week. I really wish they would change a bit. I know I have no right to think that, but this Christmas was really no different then the one they had last year. I suppose I should think about it economically. When asked what their Christmas was like, they don't have to remember a specific Christmas because they are just all the same.

While I know that Christmas is over, I still feel like I have things to do. I have been making gifts for the past two months. Every weekend crocheting something to be a gift for someone. Then suddenly there is nothing that HAS to be done. I'm lost. Can't seem to get the stress to wind down. And I am thinking about my Birthday too. Birthday's stopped being easy for me when I turn 30. This January the 8th, I will be 39. Forty is banging very loudly at my door. Honestly, I always hoped I'd be dead by forty. Lately, I've come to reconsider that notion, and am now considering 50 to be just too damn old. Got to be gone by then, rrrrr, maybe sixty, but definitely by sixty!!

I hope you all have a very Happy and Blessed New Year!!!

Blessed Be!!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Well it is Christmas time again!!!

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I ate really good food, laughed and talked with family. I did not get to meet my niece though. I had hopes of doing this, but my brother, the police officer was working the whole time. So I am a little upset about that. But I did get to visit with Fran and Mary. It's taken me this long to get thru with withdraw. I got a lot of crocheting done also. I have now finished Tammy's, Sierra's, and Hannah's hat, scarf and mitten set. I made Rex's afgan and another afgan for Adam. I made the two afgans that weekend. They look really good too. I think I might make myself one after Christmas. Now I have to finish Sara's set and something for Naomi, and I will be done with Alex's family, YeaHHHHHHH!!

Lately I have been looking for doll patterns to crochet. I want to make my own designs for characters from some of my favorite books. I really want to do a Harry Potter doll. I have seen patterns for him, but none of them have green eyes. I do not understand how these people can say that they just love Harry Potter, then design a doll that doesn't even have green eyes. Read the books people!!! It is not Harry, if he doesn't have green eyes. I did find a really cute pattern for a snitch. Now that designer has talent. It has wings and everything. I can't wait to make it. It will make a great gift for Mary!!!

Now I have to shop for Mary and Fran. I have to do that next week, because I have already spent this weeks check on bills. I know what Fran wants, but I am playing the devil finding it. Mary, I don't have clue. But I am playing with a few Ideas!!

The traffic here in Charleston is just getting Stupider this time of year!!! Idiots, idiots everywhere, oh my!! Stopping in the middle of the road to talk to the car next to them, or just to look at a car going the other way. Inconsiderate stupid people!!! Yesterday, some cow with fake red hair and a lot tattoos, cuts me off going into a restaurant. I am on my lunch break, just wanted to order one little sandwich, I mean, I don't have a lot of money, so I just wanted one little sandwich. The cow, cuts in front of me, places an order for about 10 people. I just left. Stupid inconsiderate people!!! I really don't know when these idiots are going to learn, but I hope the selfish cow choked on her sandwiches!!! This town is just so stupid. The people are selfish and inconsiderate. I mean these people that stop in the middle of the road, they don't not take the people sitting behind into any consideration. Those people just want to go home, or to where ever they may be heading, but oh-no, the idiot has to stop in the road for nothing. If anyone out there is considering moving to Charleston, South Carolina, save yourself the trouble and move to someplace less stupid. Maybe Iraq.

Happy Yule Tidings to you and yours!!!!!

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving!!

So the Holidays are here. Next week will be Thanksgiving, then closing in, like that axe murderer in the closet waiting for you to change your shoes, is Christmas. I have been crocheting for Christmas and most of my loved ones are getting a Winter Ensemble which includes a hat, mittens and scarf. I have asked each one of them there favorite colors, because I believe that if you are going to give someone a gift, it should be something that they will like or use, or at least somewhat appreciate. And I am not doing those toboggen caps either. I hate those. My mother use to make me wear them when I was a kid and I still hate them. The squish your hair down, make your head sweat, and look tacky and just plain ugly on women. Men can wear them, and I think men should wear them, but women look ugly in them. So as of now, I have completed a blue set, a red set, and I have the yarn for a green set, a pink set, and I need a yellow set and another color or three for some others. And I need the time to finish this crocheting!!!!
Speaking of time, I will be in North Carolina next week visiting family. I will take my crocheting there, and well... we will see. Anyhow, I'm going to visit my daughter Mary, and my mother, honorary title, Fran. Fran has been going thru a bad time lately. Her brother died last week, a nephew of hers died about a month ago. And as these things seem to go in three's, she is understandably worried about who the third will be. Not to mention all that dividing of personal items. That alone can stress a person to the breaking point. And my own family, I just found out my brother has been in the hospital. He has not been taking care of diabetes like he should, and his blood sugar was well beyond what the doctors consider to diabetic coma stage. My brother is like the rest of us who just hate doctors and hospitals, so he has not been an overly friendly patient, which is obivously wearing on my SIL nerves. The poor thing sounds like she is just wore out, and stressed a little past breaking point, but still hanging in there just for spite!! Of course she would need to be tough to deal with this family.
Ahhh family!! And it just might be that I may get to meet for the first time, my niece, Deanna Renee Harper. I have been wanting to meet her for years now, and there has always been something to come up and stop me going in that direction. But now, at least I may get to see her. I bet she looks just like my sister and brother, who are twins. I wonder if I can steal her away. I may have to think up a plan :-P !!
I really am looking forward to going to Fran's for Thanksgiving. I will be able to laugh, eat good food and have a much better time of it then I have in my everyday life with Alex. At least I would have if it hadn't been for all the other stuff. With him and his family, everything is morbid, taste like salt and pepper, and no one laughs or does anything fun. They go to church, or they drink, and they are not even fun drunks, in fact, Alex has been growing more and more nasty. When he starts in lately, I just go in the other room and forget to answer or respond to whatever he is trying to start. He keeps going though. If you ignore one thing, he switches tracks fast and starts another. He pushes buttons just to get some response. What he doesn't realize is that when he starts this lately, I just picture him sitting in the white room with Madeline from Le Femme Nikita. Then I picture that scary couple, you have to be familiar with the show to know who I mean, coming in with their torture equipment!!! Trouble is, it takes effort not to smile with this thought. I have to keep my face impassive, so he doesn't take my smile as some response to his goading. Sometimes I even go in the bedroom and put a DVD of the show in the player and watch it. He doesn't realize how much I wish it was him sitting strapped in that chair. Ha!! I'll get around you somehow, and one day, I'll even get you back!!!
I do hope that everyone has a healthy, happy, and pleasant memory making, Thanksgiving!! And remember to be thankful for not being me!!
Bright blessings to all!!!

Witches Hat Exchange

I got pictures.

This is the hat that I recieved in the mail this past Saturday.

Isn't it cute?!! It is felted, which I do not know how to do, so I will make sure that I ask.

This is the hat that I made for the person that I was suppose to make a hat for, aka. Pecan or Lisa Hale.

In the descriptions and color choices she said she wanted Purple. So here is a purple witches hat with a little black faux fur for the brim. I think it came out beautifully, and I am not a big fan of purple.

The little tatted design on the front is a Mark Myers tatting pattern. It's a cat with green eyes, I put some beads on to give the kitty green eyes, that was the only thing I did differently to the pattern. If any of you have worked with any of Mark Myers patterns, he is a very gifted designer and very creative and as long as you follow the pattern, you just can't go wrong. He has several Halloween patterns on his website, all of which would have looked fabulous on this hat. But... time just didn't allow. This pattern is removable. I did not stitch it on, so Pecan can place it wherever she likes, or remove it to someplace else all together.

This was a very fun exchange that I was very excited about and thoroughly enjoyed.

Bright blessings to all!!!

Clowning around!!!!

There I was, just sitting at a light, waiting my turn...

When this goes riding by....

Then, from out of no where rides up this witch on a broomstick.

She sees the motorbike, swerves out of control and hits a tree.

Consider this a warning, don't drink and fly, and whatever you do, watch out for the guy on the cow with wheels!!!!

Bright blessings to all!!!

Hope you have a great weekend!!!

I thought I'd give you a little something to make you smile :-) !!!

This week hasn't been much different than any of the others. I did manage to finish the purple witch hat that I needed to crochet for the October exchange. It's purple!! I'll post a picture of Monday. So that is two hats that I have crocheted now. One black, which is on it's way to NC for Mary, and the Purple one. I seem to have been bitten recently by the crocheting bug. It is easy to get lost in. I did do some tatting last weekend, for about 10 minutes, the rest of the weekend was spent cleaning the damn house. I know that I shouldn't feel that way, but I hate cleaning. I just HATE it!!! Furthermore, if I lived alone, I would not have to clean nearly as much. I would rather be tatting, or crocheting. I just want to put something on TV, usually something I have watched before, it's just for sound, and I just want to tat mostly. There are hundreds of patterns lately, that I just want to make. Plus I need to get to work on Christmas presents. My fiancees family is just getting homemade things this year. I'm not spending a lot of money on them. I don't even spend time with them, much.

For instance, this weekend my PMIL (possible mother in law, not!) family is having a reunion. I know about it, but I have not been asked to come or invited. So, do I go, or not?

I participated in writing workshop yesterday, on-line. The Erotic writing group hosted Karen Higgins workshop on Idea to Outline yesterday. I think it was a very good discussion and very helpful information was passed around by all. One thing I did notice, and I thought this was weird, some of the people, writers, worry that they sound like a "dork" if they record their voices making notes for their writing. I thought that was weird. I do this, because I live in a very stupid town where I have to sit in traffic twice a day, 5 times a week. So as I am trying to keep my temper at bay, no easy feet that's for sure, I think about my writing and if I get an idea I record the thought into my digital recorder. Then when I get somewhere, either home or the office, I write it down in my notebook. But some people don't do this because they are distracted by the way their voice sounds on the recorder. No offense to those people, but I think that is so stupidly vain. It' not like they are going to stand in packed football stadium and play this recorder, it was an idea for your own use. Why does it matter what you sound like, when it's what your saying that you need to remember. And then one of them said that they keep a notebook on the seat next to them and just write down their notes while their driving. Yeah, that's not dangerous!!

Other than that, the rest of the discussions, I feel was very productive and helpful. I encourage anyone who is interested in writing Erotic Romance to consider joining this group. Marie also has some very useful articles in the file section for writers.

Well, I better close now. I'm venting. I have been very tired lately. Tired of work, tired of Alex, tired of the dogs, Bailey tore up a ball of my thread earlier this week and my wallet. I didn't kill her, but I did think about it. I need to do something, but I do not know what.

Bright blessing to all!!

Working on it!!!

Some of the tatters from Here-be-tatters may recognize the hair sticks that I talked about at one time. I used chop sticks, cut them down a bit, sanded them some, varnished them, and painted them with different colors. Some I have painted small patterns on, and I gotta say that that is pretty hard to do. Some of them, I found some scrapbooking paper that matched them pretty well, so I have been decoupaging them.
You can also see the lovely jewelry displays that I bought off e-bay. I thought they would look nice in the pictures, and they would have looked better if I had found a decent backdrop for them.
The necklace was actually started some time ago, but finished only in the last week. It has orange, gold, and brown beads. It has a very Autumn feel to it and I think it is very pretty. I plan to give it to my daughter Mary Elizabeth who is turning 20 years old on Monday. She works at the Cracker Barrel in Lumberton, NC, and I think the necklace will look cute with her apron. I do hope that she will be allowed to wear it.
The bracelet is peach, mint green and white and is also for Mary. Just a cute little bling-bling for my girl. She actually looks very good in these colors, but preferrs to wear black more often than not. Go figure!
The ring is from a new pattern book that I bought off Amazon. I bought the beads at the Beaded Venus store here in Charleston, SC. The ring is very pretty and has a winter feel to it. But the spacers, which were way to expensive, aren't right for it. They need to be flat somehow, but the ring in the picture in the book with the pattern used the same kind of spacers. The book has a lot of very beautiful rings in it, and I will be making some more of them. I love rings, they are my favorite piece of jewelry. After rings is earrings.
I have an idea for the state fair which will be here in Charleston at the end of October. I want to put together a tatting exhibit. I do not know that many other people that tat around here and I want to generate some interest. Purely selfish reasons really, I am very lonely, and want some new friends to spend some time with. I'll post some pictures of that soon. And I want to enter the pie baking contest. If anyone has any suggestions, please post me a comment.
Bright Blessings to all!!!!

One of those days!!

I thought this picture accurately portrays how I feel today!! Ugh!!
I haven't got done the things I needed to do this week. I have to try to do them this weekend. Not writing on a schedule these days, which means not getting any writing done. Blahhhhh!!
And Dammit all, I want some good chocolate!!
Nothing new to write. The car is running fine, but needs to be vacuumed out, again. Haven't heard from any family members, so I guess everyone is fine.
Have to work on Mary's birthday gifts this weekend. What do get someone who is turning 20?
I better have some pictures to post on Monday of completed projects, or your liable to see another picture like the one above.
I do hope that everyone has a good weekend!!!
Bright Blessings to all!!!

Another dog eat cat day!!

So...

The weekend was good. Except for Friday when I thought the house was going to burn down. An electric outlet got wet and shorted out throwing out blue flames and hissing loudly. At least I think it was loudly, my shriek was louder.

The Palmetto Tatters had their annual event this past weekend. I did not get to attend due to financial and automobile problems. The car problems are solved, unfortunately not in enough time to attend the event. While I do hope that everyone who attended had a good time, I'm bummed that I didn't get to go.

I did get some work done on some jewelry pieces that I have been designing for my daughter Mary. She is going to be 20 years old this month, damn I'm old. I hope to post those pictures before the end of the week.

Bright blessings to all!!!

This is Bailey

This is my baby girl, Bailey. She was sleeping in the bed when I snuck-up on her. It's the only time she is still. See her little tongue sticking out. I just love it.

I had an okay weekend. I did get some things done. I will post some pictures tomorrow. I got my jewelry display pieces today and they look really good. I will be able to display pieces for pictures.

I do hope that everyone had a really good long weekend!! And I hope you all have a good week.

Bright Blessings to All!!!
